Of the 1,257 cyclotrons in the census, 31 offer public tours — 18 of them working machines, the rest preserved machines and museum displays, which is its own kind of visit: 7 of the entries below first ran before 1950, Lawrence’s first operating cyclotron among them. Another 67 can be visited by arrangement; the census directory marks those in its tours column.
